Thank you, 2025!

So, first a report about my single 2025 goal! Drumroll please…

As of now, nearly 9 hours to go until the end of the year in this current time zone, I achieved the release of 1,874 items. Just shy of 1,900 items. Yes, this is short of the stated 2,025 goal, but I’m so proud of and happy about what I did achieve. This took perseverance and attention in numerous short bursts throughout the year. Without the list and the goal, I don’t think I would have released even a fraction of this amount of things from the attic.

Could I go and find 151 additional items this afternoon? Definitely, I could. I could clean my dresser socks and undies drawers or something in J’s room. But I am choosing instead to carry the theme of this goal into next year, taking a different approach, but still counting the items. Stay tuned to learn more. As we move into the new year, I intend to share posts about this and each of my 2026 goals.

And now for ode to 2025…

What a lovely year you were. I have so much gratitude for this year, the end of the first quarter of this century! Wow! Fun highlights include our trip to Boston, two trips to Indiana for time with family, J turning 13 years old, fun 8th grade school family traditions, and looking towards the future.

I’m so very thankful for good health and work for all of us, our home to live in and fun, warm family life, and for exciting opportunities for the future. 2025 seemed like the year when things started to click in terms of organizing information, getting clearer vision of our finances, and really working with the habit of Weekly Reviews. This has lead to my current level of clarity and optimism about setting goals for ’26 and beyond.

Tying it all together…

To think that with the exception of the 2,025 items goal, I did not consider large goals along the way. I likely brainstormed something this time last year, but I wouldn’t even know where they are right now. When I started the weekly planning (September?), it was weird to not have a guiding document.

I am SO THANKFUL to have this big-picture-dreaming going on this year along with a plan to keep it top of mind, a way to guide this ship.

Spirit, please stay with me as we co-create together this wild, wonderful life!
