Happy New Year!

A day of fresh starts and new beginnings. A big blank slate of a whole year in front of us. Hopeful optimism.

But… It’s not the only one! Just in case you’re like me, and might feel a pull to try to do things “perfectly” at this new start. Here’s a thought…

There is a fresh start every month, every week, even every day. We could think of a fresh start each breath, every moment is ours to create or re-create ourselves.

Throughout the year, there are numerous times one could choose to “start fresh”. Could be at the half-year mark / beginning of the fiscal year (July 1). Perhaps at the beginning of the academic year, or the beginning of each season. If you follow a liturgical calendar, could start fresh at points through the year such as the beginning of Advent or Lent, each Sunday, or Easter! Or what about Lunar New Year in February?

There definitely is something about today, when we write (or type / enter!) a new number every time Year is requested. But then again, it truly is a mental construct. Yet one where many, many people are experiencing the fresh energy at once.

All of this to say, there is no one way to do this. It works if it works for YOU.

Best wishes and enjoy!
